Reckitt Benckiser chief executive Rakesh Kapoor has poached the finance director of medical devices group Smith & Nephew. Adrian Hennah joins in December, replacing Liz Doherty who has been in the post for almost two years.
Kapoor, who took the helm at Reckitt last year, said: “Liz and I have agreed that RB’s and her way of working are not as well matched as either of us would like, and now is the right time for her to move.”
Quilter quits office to expand operation
Investment manager Quilter is to relocate its Edinburgh office as it expands its presence north of the Border.
The firm, which employs 380 staff across the UK, said it had outgrown its St Andrew Square base in the east end of the city and was moving to a site on Castle Terrace. Edinburgh head Alan Aitchison said: “We will now have the space to accommodate additional team members as demand increases.”
Visitor centre opens at distillery
Glenglassaugh, the North-east distillery that re-opened in 2009 after 22 years in mothballs, has opened a visitor centre in the latest move to rebuild the brand.
The centre, in a former revenue and customs office, is the latest milestone passed by the firm this year.
Glasgow builds on Olympic experience
A MEMBER of the London 2012 commercial team has been appointed deputy chief executive of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Ty Speer, client services director of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, will lead Glasgow’s £100 million commercial programme when he takes his post in November.
LinkedIn’s UK numbers top 10m
SOCIAL networking site LinkedIn yesterday claimed four out of five UK professionals were signed up to its service as the firm’s number of users in Britain surpassed the ten million mark.
