The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are to attend a charity dinner organised by the university where they met.
William and Kate will go to a black-tie fundraiser in London on Thursday, 8 November, to back University of St Andrews’ 600th Anniversary Campaign.
The duke is patron of the campaign, which he initiated in St Andrews, in February last year.
He said: “It’s knowing that so many of Scotland’s finest brains and great achievers gained, and continue to gain, inspiration from this place that makes me so proud to be the patron.”
Pamela Forbes, who received a bursary to study at St Andrews, said taking part in the university-run First Chances project, that mentors children at S3 level, gave her academic confidence.
She added: “I never thought that going to university would be an option for me.”
