Paul Jeffrey of South Queensferry has been crowned Scotland’s new curry-eating king after wolfing down a bowl of the country’s hottest curry just moments before Hibs Ladies goalkeeper Dani Downs.
At the Curry King or Queen Contest at Edinburgh’s Kismot restaurant the refrigeration engineer, 23, kept his cool to beat off six other competitors to take the title after first finishing two bowls of increasingly hot dishes.
