THE work which the Scottish Travel Association is doing to promote the Come to Scotland movement was described by the manager, Mr D G Russell, at a gathering held by the Grantown Amenities Association.

As the Scottish Travel Association had only been in existence since last year, Mr Russell said a good deal of time had naturally been devoted to laying the foundations of an organisation to permit indefinite expansion. The question of finance was of paramount importance. The small government grant served only to give the association official standing and the ability to exist, and it was necessary to seek support from Scotland. Contributions had been coming in from local authorities all over the country, Edinburgh having given a lead with £500. The Local Authorities (Publicity) Act 1931 permitted them to subscribe to the funds without further authorisation from the Secretary of State.
