Glasgow offices prove popular

GLASGOW was the second most-popular “regional” city for companies taking up out-of-town office space during the third quarter of the year, according to property firm GVA.

The company’s “Big Nine” report found only Manchester’s out-of-town offices proved more popular than those in Glasgow, with deals in the third quarter including Southside Housing Association taking 16,000sq ft at Cardonald business park.

Toby Withall, national markets director for GVA Scotland, said: “In terms of UK city centre activity, Grade-A space has reduced and supply is waning in both Edinburgh and Glasgow city centres.

“Significant take up in the [Scottish] capital, including the acquisition of 37,275sq ft of Westport by NHS Education for Scotland, has made this all the more acute.”
